Description

You are watching a repair kit with all the SMD electrolytic capacitors for the Roland JP-8000 mainboard and all the power supply capacitors. This synthesizer is known for problems created by bad capacitors, mainly low volume output and distortion. You can replace only the culprit capacitor but your best option is to replace all the capacitors. Electrolytic capacitors age faster than other components – sooner or later more caps will cause problems…

The capacitors in this kit are top quality Panasonic capacitors with 5000h life at 105º C – 5 times the original capacitors expected life. I now updated this KIT because I had many requests for the power supply capacitors. The THT capacitors bellow have the same dimensions as the originals and better specs (105º instead of 85º and longer life from Nichicon).
And finally, also by some customers request, I’ll also send 12 tact switches because most of the time there’s some faulty ones, especially in the sound patches’ area. Now that you’re opening the synth, you might replace them as well…

The KIT contains:

Mainboard
19 x 10uF 16V SMD
  1 x 100uF 6.3V SMD
  1 x 22uF 16V SMD
  1 CR2032 lithium battery

Power supply
1 x 10.000uF 16V 105º THT
2 x 470uF 35V 105º THT
1 x 100uF 10V 105º THT
2 x 47uF 25V 105º THT

Panel
  12 tact switches

I will provide instructions on repairing as well as software and the files to update the firmware to the last version and factory presets.

Installing these capacitors require some soldering and desoldering skills – if you’re not used to perform these jobs, you can take the kit and the synthesizer to a local radio/tv repair shop. They will do it for you gladly.

The price includes tracked shipping to any part of the world. Sent from EUROPEAN UNION.
